Aerobus
Luggage, pets and on-board services on the Aerobus
Aerobus buses are designed for people arriving from or heading to a flight: room for suitcases, an access ramp, free Wi-Fi and a USB charger at every seat. Here's what you can bring and what's worth knowing before you board.
Suitcases
Dedicated area inside for large luggage. Keep valuables with you.
Free Wi-Fi
Throughout the journey. The password is given on board.
USB charger
At every seat, so you reach your hotel with battery to spare.
Accessible
Ramp and wheelchair space, with no need to fold the chair.
Pets
In an approved carrier, one animal per ticket.
Children
Under-4s travel free, always with an adult.
Travelling in a wheelchair or with reduced mobility
All buses are adapted and have a ramp. There's no need to fold your wheelchair: you can travel seated in it in the designated space, secured with seat belts. If you prefer, you can fold it, leave it in the luggage area and sit in one of the priority seats. At the airport, Aena also offers a free assistance service for passengers with reduced mobility; see airport services.
Information on board
Screens on the buses show the next stops, connections with other transport, flight status and city information. In central Barcelona there are also information totems showing the service in real time.
A cleaner fleet
The Aerobus fleet is made up of latest-generation hybrid and electric buses, and the operator holds quality, environmental management and road safety certifications. Getting to the airport on a shared bus produces far less pollution per passenger than going by car or taxi.
Basic rules
- Validate your ticket (the QR code on your phone or on paper) when you board, with the driver or the stop staff.
- Eating and drinking are not allowed on board.
- Official complaint forms are available on the buses and at the stops.
Frequently asked questions
How many suitcases can I take on the Aerobus?
There's no published limit on the number of bags like there is on a plane: the Aerobus is designed for travellers with luggage and has a dedicated space inside for large suitcases. Small cases and rucksacks stay with you. Passengers are responsible for keeping an eye on their hand luggage.
Can I bring a bike or a pushchair?
Yes. There's a dedicated space inside for wheelchairs, pushchairs, bicycles and large luggage.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, in a suitably sized, approved carrier or cage, one animal per ticket and always on the same bus as the person travelling with it. Guide and assistance dogs travel with their owner in line with accessibility regulations.
Can children travel on their own?
Children under 4 must always travel with an adult. Children aged 4 to 12 are advised to travel accompanied; they can travel alone with authorisation from their parents or guardians, but there are no staff to look after them.
Is there a toilet on the Aerobus?
No. The buses have no toilet; the journey takes about 35 minutes.
Can I eat or drink on board?
No, for hygiene reasons eating and drinking are not allowed during the journey.
What should I do if I've left something on the bus?
Tell the stop staff if you've just got off, or file a report using the lost property form on the operator's website. More information on our contact page.
