Getting there
Bus 46 and night buses to Barcelona airport
As well as the Aerobus, ordinary city buses also serve the airport: TMB route 46 from Plaça Espanya and, at night, the N16 and N17 night buses. They're the cheapest option, but also the slowest.

Route 46: Plaça Espanya – airport
This is a TMB city bus that leaves from Plaça Espanya, passes through the Marina neighbourhood and the Zona Franca and reaches both airport terminals. It makes lots of stops, so the journey takes 35 to 45 minutes depending on traffic. You pay with a single bus ticket (€2.90 in 2026) or with the T-casual, T-usual or Hola Barcelona card.
Bear in mind that it's an ordinary city bus: there's no dedicated luggage area and it can be full at rush hour.
N16 and N17 night buses
At night, when the 46 stops running, the N16 and N17 Nitbus routes connect the airport with the city centre. They make more stops and take longer than the Aerobus, which keeps leaving each terminal every 20 minutes through the night.
Is it worth it compared with the Aerobus?
If you're travelling light, aren't in a hurry and your destination is near Plaça Espanya, the 46 saves you a few euros. If you have suitcases, are going to the centre or want a journey without lots of stops, the Aerobus is quicker, has room for luggage and also drops you at Plaça Universitat and Plaça Catalunya.
