Why almost everyone chooses the Aerobus
The airport is about 15 kilometres from central Barcelona. You can cover that by metro, train, city bus or taxi, but the Aerobus is the only public transport option that takes you straight into the heart of the city with no changes, with space inside for your luggage and a service that keeps running through the night.
- No changing lines: you board right outside the terminal and get off at Plaça Espanya, Plaça Universitat or Plaça Catalunya.
- Designed for travellers with luggage: the buses have an area for large suitcases, pushchairs and wheelchairs, plus an access ramp.
- There's always one about to leave: during the day there's a bus every 5 minutes to T1 and every 10 to T2; at night, every 20 minutes.
- Free Wi-Fi and a USB charger at every seat.
- Ticket on your phone: buy it online, it arrives with a QR code and is valid for 90 days, with no need to choose a time.
A1 or A2: which one do you need?
Both lines follow the same route through the city; the only difference is the airport terminal. Before heading to the airport, check your boarding pass or your airline's website to see which terminal you're flying from:
- A1 line: runs to and from Terminal 1, used by Vueling, Iberia, most full-service airlines and long-haul flights.
- A2 line: runs to and from Terminal 2 (T2B and T2C buildings), used mainly by low-cost airlines such as Ryanair and easyJet.
When you land there's nothing to think about: only the right line stops at each terminal. If you go to the wrong terminal on the way out, there's a free shuttle bus between T1 and T2, but allow an extra 15-20 minutes.

At night it drops to one bus every 20 minutes. See the full time bands by line and direction in the Aerobus timetable.
