Barcelona Aerobus frequently asked questions
The questions travellers ask us most about the bus between El Prat airport and the city centre: timetables, stops, tickets, luggage and what to do if something goes wrong.
The service
How long does the Aerobus take from the airport to Plaça Catalunya?
Between 30 and 35 minutes, depending on the time of day and traffic. Plaça Espanya, the first stop in the city, is about 25 minutes away.
How often does the Aerobus run?
During the day, the A1 (Terminal 1) leaves every 5 minutes and the A2 (Terminal 2) every 10. Early in the morning and in the evening, every 10 minutes, and in the small hours every 20. All the time bands are on the timetable page.
Does the Aerobus run at night?
Yes. It runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In the early hours a bus leaves each terminal and Plaça Catalunya every 20 minutes.
What's the difference between the A1 and the A2?
Only the terminal: the A1 goes to Terminal 1 and the A2 to Terminal 2 (T2B and T2C). In the city they make the same stops. Check your boarding pass to see which terminal your flight leaves from.
Where does the Aerobus stop in Barcelona?
Towards the airport: Plaça Catalunya, Carrer Sepúlveda and Plaça Espanya. Towards the city: Plaça Espanya, Gran Via - Comte Borrell, Plaça Universitat and Plaça Catalunya. See stops and route.
Does the Aerobus stop at Sants station?
No, neither at Sants nor at Estació del Nord. To get to Sants, get off at Plaça Espanya and take metro line L3 for two stops, or use the R2 Nord train from T2. We explain it in from the airport to Sants.
I've gone to the wrong terminal. What should I do?
Don't go back to the centre: there's a free shuttle bus between T1 and T2 that takes about 10-15 minutes.
Tickets and fares
How much does the Aerobus cost?
A single ticket costs €7.75 and a return €13.30. Children under 4 travel free. There are also combined tickets with the metro and the Hola Barcelona card: see fares.
Do I have to book a day and time?
No. The ticket isn't a reservation: it's valid on any bus on its line for 90 days from purchase. With a return ticket, the return leg is valid for 90 days from your outbound journey.
Can I use the return leg from a different terminal?
Yes. You can arrive at T1 and go back from T2 (or vice versa) with the same return ticket.
Do I need to print my ticket?
No. Just show the QR code on your phone when you board. A return ticket uses the same QR code for both journeys.
Is the ticket tied to a name?
No. The buyer's name and email are requested to process the purchase, but anyone can use the ticket.
Can I pay on the bus?
Yes, by card or phone, and also at the machines at the stops. Buying online in advance means you avoid queues when you arrive.
Can I get a refund on my ticket?
It depends on where you bought it. Tickets bought from us are subject to the oasbus.com terms of sale: write to us with your order number (details on our contact page). Tickets bought directly from the operator can be refunded, unused, within 90 days of purchase via its website.
Are the T-casual or Hola Barcelona valid on the Aerobus?
No, the Aerobus has its own tickets. There are, however, combined tickets that include an Aerobus return and the Hola Barcelona card for 24 to 120 hours.
