Getting there
From Barcelona airport to the cruise port
Barcelona is the Mediterranean's leading cruise port and many passengers fly in on the day of embarkation. From the airport to the cruise terminals you can take a fixed-price taxi or, much more cheaply, the Aerobus to the centre and the port shuttle bus from the Columbus monument.
Option 1: Aerobus + port shuttle bus
- Aerobus to Plaça CatalunyaTake the A1 or A2 depending on your terminal and get off at the end of the route, Plaça Catalunya. About 35 minutes.
- To the Columbus monumentWalk down La Rambla to the sea (about 20 minutes on foot, 1.3 km) or take metro line L3 from Catalunya to Drassanes, just two stops.
- Port shuttle busNext to the Columbus monument is the stop for the shuttle bus that serves the Moll Adossat cruise terminals. The World Trade Center terminals are a few minutes' walk from there.
It's the cheapest option and works well if you don't have too much luggage. If you have large suitcases, the La Rambla stretch is better done by metro or taxi.
Option 2: fixed-price taxi
Under the 2026 taxi fares, the trip from the airport to Moll Adossat, where most large cruise ships dock, has a fixed price of €46. It's convenient for groups and families with lots of luggage. More information on taxi from the airport.
Before you set off
- Check your boarding documents to see which terminal your cruise leaves from (Moll Adossat or World Trade Center).
- Allow plenty of time: cruise lines close boarding well before the ship's departure time; check with yours.
- If you have time to spare, the port is at the bottom of La Rambla, next to the Gothic Quarter and Barceloneta: you can leave your luggage at a left-luggage office and go for a stroll. Ideas in what to see near the stops.
At the end of your cruise
To get back to the airport, do the route in reverse: port shuttle to Colom, metro or a walk to Plaça Catalunya and the Aerobus to your terminal. The Aerobus return ticket is valid for 90 days, so you can buy both journeys at once.
